WASHINGTON — Former director of the National Reconnaissance Office Martin Faga is joining the board of directors of LinQuest Corp., a Defense Department contractor that provides space technology and services to the U.S. military, NASA and intelligence agencies.
The company is based in Los Angeles with regional headquarters in Colorado Springs and the Washington, DC area.
Faga led the NRO during the George H.W. Bush administration. He also was assistant secretary of the Air Force for space and staff member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
In private industry, Faga was president and CEO of MITRE Corp. and a member of its board of trustees. He also has served on the board of directors of Alliant Techsystems, Orbital ATK, DigitalGlobe and GeoEye.
Faga told SpaceNews that what attracted him to LinQuest is the company’s expertise in complex systems engineering. “It’s the kind of engineering space I spent my career in,” he said.
“There’s an ever larger need for engineering services to the government,” said Faga. “These are services that the government simply could not operate without.”
LinQuest last month received a $14 million contract for support services to U.S. Space Command. A year ago the company won a $9.2 million contract to help with the standup of the command.
